Welcome to Dahlia!
We greatly appreciate that you have chosen us to perform your piercing or assist you with any of your other
piercing needs. Before you visit our studio we would like to provide you with some information about the way we operate so that we can make your visit as enjoyable as possible.
Appointments
-
In order to provide the best customer experience possible and to make sure that we have enough time to answer all of your questions, we do require appointments for all visits to Dahlia. This includes visits simply to shop for jewelry or change jewelry. Appointments can be booked 24 hours a day here on our website.
-
Please be aware that space inside our studio is quite limited and so we request that you only bring one or two guests with you to your appointment. Minors are permitted in the building only when and if they have an appointment. Minors are not permitted in the building if they are not scheduled for an appointment as they cannot be left unsupervised in the lobby or inside the piercing room while someone is receiving services. It is of the utmost importance that we maintain a safe and sterile environment for all parties. If you are unable to find someone to care for your minor at the time of your appointment just let us know, we will be happy to reschedule your appointment.
-
At Dahlia we love animals! However, due to Health Department rules we are not allowed to have any animals in the studio unless they are ADA recognized service animals. Unfortunately this does not include emotional support animals.
-
Please dress comfortably for your appointment and in a way that will provide reasonably easy access to the area being pierced.
-
If you are coming in to have a piercing performed we highly recommend having something to eat before your appointment. Nerves and adrenaline can cause drops in blood glucose levels and this can lead to a few issues we would all like to avoid!
-
While in the studio we ask that you not touch, remove, or handle any of your own piercings or jewelry. We are obsessed with hygiene at Dahlia and handling your piercings can lead to spreading bacteria and other pathogens.
-
Because of the limited size of our studio, and in respect of other appointments, we do ask that you arrive for your appointment on time and neither late nor early. If you can’t make it to your appointment or feel you may be late, please contact us so we can cancel or reschedule your appointment. Failure to do so may force us to charge a cancellation fee.
-
All appointments are booked to include enough time to cover the steps needed to complete the service(s) listed on the appointment. In body piercing, being even a few minutes late can prevent us from being able to perform the service.
-
Please do not bring food with you to the studio.
Jewelry
-
At Dahlia we pride ourselves on carrying a wide selection of the highest quality, safest, and most beautiful jewelry possible. Because of this, deciding on the perfect piece for your new piercing can be quite a challenge! Do not worry, we are here to help you choose a piece that you can love for many years. We also have time built into all of our piercing appointments to select jewelry and so booking extra time for this is not needed.
-
Our jewelry is made from the highest quality materials such as implant grade titanium, niobium, and 14 or 18 karat gold. All of our jewelry also comes with a lifetime guarantee, if you ever have a piece of the jewelry we sell break, simply bring it in to us and we will send it back to the manufacturer for a free repair. Please note that this guarantee does not cover lost jewelry, only repairs.
-
Because of the intimate nature of the jewelry we sell, all sales must be final. We are unable to provide any refunds or exchanges.
-
Since we can not be certain of the exact content of the metals used in jewelry you may already own and because there can be issues with the design of many pieces of jewelry that can impact the healing process, we are unable to perform piercings with jewelry that we do not sell in our studio. We are more than happy to install jewelry in a fully healed piercing, assuming that it is suitable for the piercing, that you bring to us, but we will not perform any piercings with jewelry not sold in our studio.
Important things to know about caring for your new piercing
-
When you visit us for a new piercing we will talk in depth about the care of your piercing and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Before you come in there are a few things we do want you to be aware of.
-
Piercings that aren’t fully healed and water do not mix, except for showers. All bodies of water, from your bathtub to an ocean, contain bacteria, fungal spores, and other infectious pathogens that must be avoided while your piercing is healing. Because of this it is important to stay completely out of all water, except for a shower, while your piercing is healing. Even keeping your head above water won’t protect your ear and nose piercing because water splashing on the piercing is just as dangerous as submerging your head under water. Also remember that many common piercings can take up to a year to be fully healed so please plan the time you get your piercings so they won’t interfere with vacations, swim team participation and so on.
-
Because of the nature of the tissue being pierced any piercing that goes through ear cartilage can not have pressure, even briefly, applied to it during the healing period. This means that it is imperative that you not lay or sleep on the ear that was pierced throughout the entire healing process. Due to this we can only do piercings through ear cartilage on one ear at a time.
-
Pets should not be allowed in the bed, even when you aren’t in the bed, while healing a piercing. Those adorable little paws will bring with them tiny little particles from the ground outside and from the litter box into your bed and they can wind up coming in contact with your new piercing. Sorry, but Fluffy needs to sleep in their own bed while your piercing is healing.
Piercing minors
-
At Dahlia we are happy to perform ear lobe piercings on individuals from 9 years old and up. We will perform some other piercings on individuals from 16 years old and up.
-
Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or a court recognized legal guardian and this individual must be in the building when the piercing is performed.
-
To pierce anyone under the age of 18
-
we are required to have them bring in a state issued, valid, photo ID if the piercing is performed anywhere other than the earlobes.
-
The parent or legal guardian is also required to provide their state issued, valid, photo ID.
-
We must also have the minor’s birth certificate (along with paperwork showing that the adult is the legal guardian if they are not the parent listed on the birth certificate) to show the relationship between the adult and the child.
-
If we do not have the above documentation we will not be able to perform the piercing.
-
-
Please keep the information above concerning care of the piercing in mind. We don’t want to ruin anyone’s vacation or Summertime fun! And since the piercing can’t be removed and shouldn’t be covered while healing, oftentimes sports and new piercings simply don’t mix.

Release Forms
-
Every time you come to Dahlia to receive a new piercing will require that you fill out a release form. To make this as easy as possible we will send you a link to the release form that you can fill out online on the day of your appointment. Please fill out the release form before arriving for your appointment so that we can have as much time available as possible for you to ask questions and select your jewelry!
